Lighting for stadiums

The special spotlights are used for functional lighting of stadiums. They are mounted on high towers on the edges of fields. Spotlights that are used of the sport grounds should provide the direct luminous flux of high intensity. The stronger it is, the higher you can set the light source. 

There are different levels of illumination of football fields for various classes of games according to the standard EN 12193:1999 in Europe. The minimum level of lighting is 120 lux for entry-level clubs and 350 lux for professional games. It is necessary to watch out for uniform illumination in addition to the minimum illumination during the design of the lighting of football stadiums. Requirements for lighting are changed during the television broadcast of the game: 1200 lux - 1400 lux - illuminance on the vertical plane. Mast, straight or mixed systems are used for stadium lighting.


Lighting for sports pools

Swimming pool lighting must be done with the use of lamps that are protected against high humidity and direct contact with water. There are high demands to the luminous flux and security of equipment such as lighting for swimming pools. Especially it is true for devices that should be installed directly underwater in the pool.


Lighting for ice rink

It is important to solve the task of ice-rink lighting with special responsibility. Strategically location of the lamps and ventilation system, which protect against the danger of condensation on the ice, is the main thing.

The lighting of the ice-rink should be made with the means of lighting equipment, which have the shock proof design (durable housing and protected optical part). Lamps for ice-rink must withstand even the bounce hockey puck, which often happens during the competition or training.

The average level of illumination for tennis court is 75 lux, 200 lux, 500 lux (for 1st, 2nd and 3rd classes of the game).

In addition to the minimum illumination during the design of tennis court lighting it is necessary to watch the simulating effect of the light, the lighting uniformity and lighting in the vertical plane. Spotlights are placedon atleast 12 msupports, whichare placedalong thelong sidesof thecourt withthe direction of lighting across the longitudinal axis of the tennis court. 

The mounting of the top-side sportlighting canbe alsomade withthe meansof sportssuspension lampsand spotlights mounted on theropes and stretched between supports, which are installed outside the tennis court. Lighting equipment should be located along the side lines outside the area of the court and have an inclination towards its longitudinal axis.
